The Northeast Alliance (NELA) and The Marmion Royal Tenant’s Union teamed up for this action on July 19th, 2016. The 60 unit building, Marmion Royal, located across the street from the highland park metro goldline station was sold to Skya Ventures and Gelt Ventures. Tenants began receiving eviction notices and were told that rents would go up between $2400-$2700, outrageous prices that families could not afford.
